Questions about temporary phone numbers
These answers cover the questions people send our support most often: codes that do not arrive, refunds, blocked accounts, payments, rentals and the API. If a code does not arrive, a payment is missing or an account is blocked, find the question below and follow the steps.
SMS codes and numbers
SMS codes and numbers cause most questions: a code that does not come, a number the app says is already used, or no numbers for the country you need. Usually the fastest fix is another number or another country, and the answers below explain why each case happens.
What should I do if the SMS code did not arrive?
If the SMS code did not arrive within a couple of minutes, cancel the number and order another one, or try a different country. The sender decides when the SMS goes out, so a second number can work. Money for a number with no code goes back to your balance automatically.
Do I get my money back if no code comes?
Money for a number with no SMS code returns to your balance automatically within 20 minutes, or earlier when you press Cancel. A wrong or incomplete code is refunded too: write to support with a screenshot from the site where you register. The full rules are in the refund policy.
The app says the number is already used. Why?
A number can already be used because a mobile carrier can reissue a number that was registered on that app before. Nobody can check this before the number is issued. Cancel the order, take another number, and write to support if the code came but the number was rejected.
What if there are no numbers for my country and app?
When there are no numbers for a country and app, the site shows a Pre-order button instead of Buy. Press it and you get a notification when numbers are available again. You can also pick another country from the list: the same app may have numbers in stock elsewhere.
Which country should I choose for my app?
The country to choose is the one where codes for your app arrive most often. Our SMS delivery rate page shows that share for each app and country over the last 30 days, next to stock and price, so you can compare before you pay.
My app is not in the list. What should I order?
If your app is not in the list, order the service called "Not on list" in the country you need. When your app has its own entry, pick it by name instead, because SMS from that app go to its own entry. If "Not on list" is missing in a country, try another country.
Can I receive a second SMS on the same number later?
A second SMS on an old number is possible only in some cases, because numbers are disposable. Open Transaction History, find the number, press "Get more sms" and follow the instructions. Restoring an old number is done by hand and is not always possible, so for a new code it is usually simpler to order a new number.
Can I make calls or send SMS from the number?
No calls and no outgoing SMS: SV Number (sms-verification-number.com) numbers only receive incoming SMS. That covers verification codes for sign-up and login. If you need a number to call people or chat for a long time, a phone plan or a calling app suits that better.
Do the numbers work for banks and government sites?
No. Our numbers do not work for banks or government sites, and we do not sell them for that. Payment apps and wallets such as PayPal are not under this rule: you can order numbers for them like for any other app.
Payments and refunds
Payments and refunds: how to top up, what to do when a payment is not on the balance, and how bulk prices work. Your balance does not expire, and money for a number that brought no code goes back to it under the refund policy.
Which payment methods can I use?
You can top up with crypto (USDT, ETH, BTC), Visa and Mastercard cards, PayPal, UPI, Revolut and Alipay. Pick the method on the top-up page of your account. The balance never expires, so you can top up once and use it for numbers over the following weeks or months.
I paid, but the money is not on my balance. What now?
A payment usually reaches the balance within 5 to 15 minutes. Card payments can take a few hours when the payment system is busy. If the money is still missing after that, write to support and attach the payment confirmation so the team can find the payment quickly.
Do you give discounts for bulk orders?
Bulk orders get lower prices: through the API, SMS start from $0.04 when you receive 50 or more SMS a day. For a large regular volume, write to support with the apps, countries and daily amount you need to get an offer.
Account, rental and API
Account, rental and API questions come from people who use numbers every day: blocked accounts, longer rentals and automated orders. Blocks, rentals and the API each have a rule worth knowing before you start, and the answers below give it with a link to read more.
Why was my account blocked?
An account is blocked automatically when software orders numbers but fewer than 10% of them receive an SMS. Set up your software and proxies so more codes arrive. If you do not use software and think it is a mistake, write to support.
Can I rent a number for a day or longer?
A number can be rented from one day, starting at $5.00 a day. A rented number stays with you for the rental period instead of 20 minutes, which suits accounts that ask for codes again later. Rentals are on sms-verification-number.com.
Can I order numbers through an API?
The API lets software order numbers, read SMS codes and check prices without the website, at up to 150 requests per second. Get the key in your profile and follow the API documentation, which lists every method and the country and service codes.
Do you have a referral program?
The referral program pays you 10% of what the people you invite spend, with no time limit. Developers can also earn 10% on orders that come through their software. Terms and payouts are on the referral program page.
